Im not saying you cant take each song as being about god and bringing someone closer to god, but just put a little more effort into analyzing than "all their songs reflect god" I live and breathe this band and have analyzed every song theyve written and I hope you dont just look at it and say its about god, dissect it further and try to find out the deeper meaning of the writer. Being a Christian band doesnt mean every song has to be about god, dont get me wrong they have a lot of songs that are very religious but they have a wide variety of subjects they write about. Check out this song, up against the ropes, too late for roses, thirty and seven, chasing the dragon, black sheep, and god so many others and tell me I'm wrong. Your life fell apart in your hands, and youve got the scars. I believe a close friend, maybe even a sister, of the writer is struggling with heroin. Letra da msica Composure de August Burns Red - Shake it off. I find a reoccuring theme of heroin addiction in most of messengers and some of constellations and thrill seeker. They are Christian but they don't limit themselves to that topic. I can guarantee you all of thier songs dont reflect god. Composure Lyrics by August Burns Red from the Home album - including song video, artist biography, translations and more: Shake it off Pick yourself up. Probably the greatest song ABR has made yet, as far as the message of the song goes. In the end, you are always there to break your fall." Since they are all the same person, "They've always been there to break your fall", probably means "No matter what happens, you are the only one who never goes away. In the video, there were two guys beating the other guy up. "They" could also be refering to yourself as well. YOU always end up the strongest in the end. When everyone else fails, YOU are all you have left. I believe that the crutch, is refering to YOURSELF. They've always been there to break your fall" "But don't turn your back on the strongest crutch you've ever had. Probably the most controversial line of the song is:

Whenever the past starts to creep up, I turn this song on full blast. I know it certainly relates to me.a lot of shit has been happening in my life, but Im not going to let it bring me down. So you see, this song can relate to anyone, and everyone. When he is handed the water, that symbolizes the fact that hes starting to get a grip, hes moving on from the past and ready to pick himself up. So obviously, this symbolizes that all along, The guy was only beating himself up. (Now.what a lot of you may not have noticed, is the guys that were beating him, and the guy that gave him the water, are all the same person! you can see his face when he goes to give him the water.

Then one of the guys that beat him, comes into the cell, and gives him some water. He starts to lose it, starts to really give up. Then you see a guy walking along an old dusty trail, only to be pursued and beaten by two similarily dressed men.after the beating, the man wakes up in a small cell. (symbolizing the fact that they've picked themselves up from the dirt, started to move on from some kind of struggle.) It shows the band, with dirt smudged over them The music video for this song is perfect.

Its about overcoming the pain in your life, and to stop beating yourself up over it. A lot of people say its about drug addiction, or cutting yourself etc. They have always been there to brace your fallĪmazing song. It seems like your giving up on everythingīut don't turn your back on the strongest crutch you've ever had It seems like your giving up, giving up on everything you worked for More and more your demeanor looks like quicksand It's not the first time, and they're getting deeper Your life fell apart in your hands, and you've got the scars to prove it
